Off the back of the team’s most successful season ever, Giant Bicycles have announced it will expand its technical support of Team Sunweb for both the the UCI WorldTour and Continental Development divisions. This also includes the Liv-sponsored Team Sunweb women’s squad.
Most notably, the team will now train and race on Giant wheel systems. The Continental team is expected to race with Giant’s tubeless ready wheel and Gavia tyre systems, and while the WorldTour teams are expected to train with the same system, they’ll be racing on team-issue Giant tubular wheels.
In addition to the bikes and wheels, Giant will outfit team riders with its full catalogue of gear and accessories. This includes helmets, computers, team kit (made by Etxeondo), saddles, bar tape and cockpit components. Additionally, a number of riders are expected to race in new prototype footwear from the bicycle manufacturer. Arguably, this is the most single-brand technical support yet seen in the WorldTour.
