GP Gatineau: Wells wins road race, Neben fastest in time trial

Kimberly Wells (Colavita/Bianchi) won the road race at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Gatineau in Canada while Amber Neben (Bepink) took the win the in the time trial.

The Australian took the road race win in a sprint, besting Canadians Joëlle Numainville (Cervélo-Bigla) and Leah Kirchman (Team Liv-Plantur).

A group of eight riders made a break and held the gap until two laps to go when the sprinter’s teams brought everything back.

On Friday’s time trial Neben was 11 seconds faster than Tara Whitten over the 19.3km course. Karol-ann Canuel (Boels-Dolmans) finished third, only one second slower than Whitten.
