Kazakhstan junior Dana Akhmetova dies after losing consciousness in Youth Sports Games

Kazakhstan junior Dana Akhmetova died Thursday after losing consciousness during the Youth Sports Games in Almaty, reported.

Referring to the Kazakhstan Federation of Cycling website, reported that Akhmetova “lost consciousness during her participation in the IV Youth Sports Games,” and that she was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital yet, she died without regaining consciousness.

Akhmetova studied at the North Kazakhstan regional specialized boarding school for gifted children. Since 2016, she had been listed on the list of athletes of Kazakhstan’s Olympic Training Center, with Youth Games medals on the road and track.
