Bizhigitov takes queen stage in Korea, Bole into overall lead

by CyclingTips

The queen stage of the Tour of Korea, featuring a rolling parcours, was won by Zhandos Bizhigitov (Vino 4ever SKO) and saw Grega Bole (Nippo – Vini Fantini) take over the race lead.

“It was really tough day, already by itself it was a difficult stage,” said Bole.

“Too bad for the lack of a stage win but it was important to try to take the leader’s jersey. For me it would be a novelty; I’ve won one-day races and individual stages which are very important, but never an overall.”

“It will not be easy, a 13 second lead is not big, but today wewill  enjoy this good result and tomorrow we will work hard to defend it.”

American Gavin Mannion (Drapac) finished third on the stage. Previous race leader Karol Domagalsi (One Pro Cycling) finished 4:50 down on the stage and Yevgeniy Gidich (Vino 4ever SKO) took over the points classification lead.
