Lance Armstrong makes light of fake death reports

Responding to fake media reports claiming in recent days that he had died, Lance Armstrong ridiculed the rumours via Instagram.

The former Tour champion, who was stripped of his seven titles due to doping, posted a short video clip holding aloft a cell phone showing the headline of the article in question. It stated, “BREAKING NEWS: Road racing cyclist Lance Armstrong has died.”

Under his Instagram video, Armstrong wrote the caption of the well-known Mark Twain quote, “the rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated.”

The fake story claimed that his daughter had confirmed the 45-year-old’s passing.

His former team manager Johan Bruyneel commented under the Instagram post. “I had the unique experience to talk with a dead person on the this morning. I was relieved to hear your voice though.”
