LottoNL-Jumbo names Tour long-list

The LottoNL-Jumbo team named its long-list for the upcoming Tour de France. Robert Gesink, Wilco Kelderman and Sep Vanmarcke headline the list and are expected to be part of the final nine.

“A number of riders have been altitude training in Tenerife,” technical director Nico Verhoeven said in a statement. “The last race preparations are at three stage races: the Tour of Switzerland, Critérium du Dauphiné and the Ster ZLM Toer.”

“A few days before the national championships we [announce] the final nine.”

Absent from the selection was Steven Kruijswijk, who had a breakout ride at the Giro, wearing the Maglia Rosa and finishing fourth overall. Instead the 29-year-old is focusing on the Olympic road race.
