Tony Martin underlined his consistency against the clock with a superb seventh German TT title on Friday, netting what was also his sixth consecutive victory in the event.
“Everyone can understand that my focus is on next Saturday,” he said. “I do not need to worry about my form; everything is going according to plan. My body feels great. Now I am looking forward to a short relaxing time at home with my family before traveling on Tuesday to Düsseldorf.”
Martin finished 15 seconds ahead of Movistar’s Jasha Sutterlin, with his own Katusha-Alpecin teammate Nils Politt one minute 17 back in third.
“The parcours and especially the distance of 48 kilometers was not easy for me today, especially mentally,” he said, before praising his main rival. “Jasha Sütterlin did a great job. I’m glad to have the title again.”
