Min wins stage 2 of the Tour of Korea
by VeloClub
South Korean rider Kyeongho Min took a home soil victory on stage two of the Tour of Korea, hitting the line first at the end of the 156.8 kilometre stage to Muju. The Seoul Cycling Team competitor finished four seconds ahead of a ten-man chase group, with the Kazakhstani rider Yevgeniy Gidich (Vino – Astana Motors) and Colombian Edwin Avila (Team Illuminate) second and third.
The stage began with a relatively flat 40 kilometres, but after that things switched between climbs and undulating roads. Stage one winner Jon Aberasturi (UKYO) wasn’t able to retain his race lead, with the Spaniard finishing 18th, one minute 55 seconds behind.
Min now takes over at the top, and will begin stage three with a eight second lead over Gidich.
