The Holden Racing rider held a two second lead starting the final stage, with her teammate Shannon Malseed closest to her and Ruth Corset (Rush Women’s Team) a further three seconds back.
With things coming down to a bunch gallop won by Sam de Riter (High5 Dream Team), Lobigs held on to win overall.
“I couldn’t ask for a better way to start the NRS season this year. Very rapt,” she said. “It’s a good start to the season, I couldn’t have done it without the Holden team.”
The 26 year old said that she wasn’t nervous at any point during the final stage. “I knew the team had it covered and they covered all the moves beautifully.”
