It’s been a tough few seasons for Moreno Moser with the Italian unable to take a win since July 2015. But over the weekend, at the Trofeo Laigueglia, Moser returned to the spotlight.
Riding for the Italian national team, Moser attacked 100m from the summit on the final of four ascents of the Colla Micheri climb. In doing so he rode away from the rest of an 18-man leading group and powered away on the descent to win solo. Paolo Toto (Sangemini-MG.Kvis) led in a group of eight chasers some 43 seconds behind Moser.
Sunday’s win is Moser’s second at Trofeo Laigueglia; the first, in 2012, being Moser’s debut victory as a professional.
