In today’s edition of the CT Daily News Digest: Simon Spilak wins the Tour de Suisse; Silvan Dillier wins the Route du Sud; Jose Goncalves victorious at Ster ZLM Toer; Rafal Majka climbs to overall victory at the Tour of Slovenia; Kyeongho Min takes out the Tour de Korea; Siutsou to miss Tour de France after breaking leg; Operacion Puerto athletes might never be named; How to avoid a crash; Tour de Korea theme song.
The names of the athletes involved in the Operacion Puerto doping sting may never be revealed after the Provincial Court of Madrid clarified its position in the case.
A year after the decision to hand the blood bags over to anti-doping authorities, the court has now revealed that it only did so to help verify whether they belonged to athletes in open cases, rather than to start new disciplinary proceedings.
There are currently no open cases, making it unlikely that the names of athletes involved will be made public.
