In further Giro d’Italia news, past winners Vincenzo Nibali, Alberto Contador and 2017 champion Tom Dumoulin have been announced as attending the route announcement for the 2018 Giro d’Italia. The race presentation will take place on Wednesday in Milan, and the trio will be amongst those in attendance.
Also announced by organisers RCS Sport is Fabio Aru, who was second overall in 2015 and third in 2014. He is expected to target the 2018 event while new UAE Emirates teammate Dan Martin targets the Tour de France.
The race will begin on May 4 2018 in Jerusalem, Israel, and finish three weeks later. The Vatican is rumoured as being a possible venue for the final stage, something which will be made clear on Wednesday.
