Riders fight at the Vuelta a Costa Rica

by Matt de Neef

Tensions were high at the Vuelta a Costa Rica over the weekend with two riders coming to blows following a crash during stage 4. Gabriel Marin (Nestle-Giant) tried to kick Dylan Castillo (Team Costa Fruit) off his bike after both hit the deck during the crash. Both riders were disqualified from the race for their actions.

It’s not the first time that riders have traded blows at the Vuelta a Costa Rica. Last year’s race also saw three riders crash when a taxi swerved across the peloton’s path.
