by CyclingTips

LottoNL-Jumbo’s Primoz Roglic won the final stage time trial at the Vuelta a Pais Vasco on Sunday, his second stage win of the race. The 27-year-old finished fifth overall and he said after the race he is now eyeing the overall at the Tour of Romandie.

Primoz Roglic (Team Lotto NL – Jumbo) on the way to winning the Vuelta al Pais Vasco final stage time trial.

“It was a difficult time trial, but everything went as I wanted,” Roglic said.

“Today, I left the big classification riders behind me in a time trial, and that feels good. I’m so happy, also for the team because they have supported me well all week. It feels good that I can repay them. Now I’ll focus my sights on the Tour de Romandie.”

This is Roglic’s second year on the team and fifth as a pro after moving up to the WorldTour last year from the Slovenian Adria Mobil Continental team.

He won the overall at the Volta ao Algarve earlier this year. Last year he won a stage at the Giro d’Italia.
