Bujak wins Route de France stage 1

Eugenia Bujak (BTC City Ljubljana) won the first road stage of the Route de France, in a field sprint ahead of Floortje Mackaij (Team Liv-Plantur) and Amy Pieters (Wiggle High5).

Pieters remains in the overall lead thanks to her 10 second win in the opening prologue.

Earlier in the race there were many attempts at a breakaway. Jip Van den Bos (Parhotel) tried a solo breakaway for 40km but was reeled in, ensuring a field sprint.
