Bahrain-Merida rider Kanstantsin Siutsou win the Queen stage of the Tour of Croatia on Thursday, proving best on the summit finish of Biokovo. The Belarussian crossed the finish line four seconds ahead of Pieter Weening (Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij) and 49 in front of Astana’s Yevgeniy Gidich, thus landing his first victory in almost two years.

His victory sees him leap 33 places in the overall standings, taking the race leader’s jersey from the sprinter Eduard Michael Grosu (Nippo – Vini Fantini). He ends the day eight seconds in front of Weening and 47 in front of Gidich.

Friday’s stage from Starigrad to Crikvenica is 171 kilometres and is much flatter.
