Chris Froome will race Ruta del Sol; cyclocross beyond Belgium: Daily News Digest
The sands of Dubai will mark the first showdown of cycling’s fast men.
Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data), Marcel Kittel (Katusha-Alpecin), Alexander Kristoff (UAE Team Emirates), Elia Viviani (Quick-Step Floors), Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis), Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo) and John Degenkolb (Trek-Segafredo) will face off on wide, wind-swept roads from February 6-10.
Kittel won three sprints in last year’s Dubai Tour and earned the overall victory. Dubai always serves as a training ground for each team’s sprint train, and a good opportunity to see which teams have dialed in the mechanics of sprinting over the offseason.
CyclingTips’ Shane Stokes will be on the ground in Dubai. Watch this space.
