Stranger Tour? Sagan promotes Netflix as he readies to ‘race in the upside down’

by CyclingTips

With a bit of unexpected time on his hands this month, world champion Peter Sagan posted a cryptic tweet Wednesday, evoking imagery from Netflix series “Stranger Things,” writing, “Ready to race in the upside down.”

And while Sagan’s tweet may have been obscure, he’s far from the pro from this year’s Tour to promote Netflix. Several riders, including Thibaut Pinot, Romain Bardet and Pierre-Roger Latour have shared images of themselves watching Netflix shows during down time at the race. In return, reports French website Les Echos, Netflix is giving riders a free iPad and a one-year subscription.

Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo) did something similar, yet with far less flair than Sagan’s post, on Instagram on July 4.

Momento Netflix????A por la etapa 4. Netflix time????Today stage 4. #TourDeTFS #TrekSegafeedo @netflixfr #EnjoyTheMoments
