Strava is already the dominant platform for logging rides, but a recent update has put more emphasis on its role as a standalone social network for active individuals. A new “posts” function now allows users to upload non-activity content, such as photos, tips, route recommendations, gear comments, and stories.
Strava is also encouraging people to post questions that other users in their social network can answer.
“Strava is an active community of people who are passionate about their sports.” said Strava CEO James Quarrels in a recent press release. “We want to create more ways for the community to share their interests and expertise. Posts and the new feed make Strava the best place to tell a story about someone you met on the trails, ask a question about new gear or to seek kindred spirits to help achieve your goals.”
