Sunderland wins stage 3 of the Tour of Korea

by VeloClub

By its own admission, the IsoWhey Sports SwissWellness team suffered in the heat of stage 2 of the Tour of Korea but the squad bounced back one day later with victory in the race. Australian Scott Sunderland was quickest in the bunch sprint into Yeongju, beating compatriot Brenton Jones (JLT Condor), Joon Young Seo (S=KSPO) and the rest of the bunch to the line.

There was little change to the overall, with the GC riders finishing in the same bunch. Overnight race leader Kyeongho Min (Seoul Cycling Team) is eight seconds clear of Kazakhstani competitor Yevgeniy Gidich (Vino-Astana Motors) and a further two ahead of the Colombian Edwin Avila (Team Illuminate).

The race continues on Saturday with a 156 kilometre race from Yeongju to Chungju.
