Sunweb possibly joining Giant as new title sponsor

by CyclingTips

It appears that Sunweb will be moving up as the title sponsor of the current Giant-Alpecin team. The team has said they are unveiling a sponsorship change on the first rest day of the Tour de France.

Sunweb, a vacation package company, is a longtime sponsor within cycling.

While the team management would not confirm or deny the sponsorship, a little internet sleuthing has turned up the web site URL reservation for “teamsunwebgiant.com” and a Twitter account.

The elevating of Sunweb to the title sponsor would coincide with the departure of Alpecin who has its own relationship with German sprinter Marcel Kittel, along with the imminent departure of John Degenkolb.
