Trentin hits a bear while training in California

by CyclingTips

Quick Step Floors rider Matteo Trentin has hit the deck many times, but the most unusual – and potentially disastrous fall of his career occurred last weeked. The Italian was training in California and collided with a bear while descending.

“Always wear a helmet fellas!! It can also happen that during training a bear cross your path when you are in a fast downhill,” he wrote on Instagram.

He recently competed in the Amgen Tour of California and remained on in the state, training at altitude.

Fortunately the crash didn’t have serious consequences and he appears set to continue his training.
