UCI announces junior women category for world cyclocross championships starting in 2020

During a meeting of the UCI Management Committee on June 28, the creation of the junior women’s category at the UCI Cyclocross World Championships was approved, beginning at the 2020 worlds.

Also, starting with the upcoming 2017-18 season, all C1 and C2 events must offer minimum prize money for men and women. And while there is not equal prize money for the UCI’s Telenet Cyclocross World Cup series, the UCI did increase the payout on the overall series standings for women to €35,000, a 39% increase.
