UCI rejigs Jingle Cross timing

by VeloClub

The UCI has issued a statement saying that it will delay by a day the running of the 2017 Jingle Cross event, changing it to Sunday September 17.

“Initially planned for the Saturday, the opening round of the 2017-2018 Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup would have clashed with a fixture of the NCAA American Football National Championships,” it said.

“This postponement will enable the host city to guarantee the best conditions, including for security, for riders, teams and fans attending the event.”

Wout van Aert (Crelan–Vastgoedservice) and Sophie de Boer (Kalas–NNOF) were the winners in 2016.
