US cyclocross championship course providing a challenge

by CyclingTips

While the main events for the US cyclocross national championships are set for this weekend, non-championship races kicked-off the week on Tuesday in Hartford, Connecticut. Rain quickly turned an already challenging course, with steep up and down sections, into an episode of Benny Hill.

However, the forecast is calling for sun the rest of the week and for temperatures to begin to drop to highs around freezing by Thursday through the weekend. While this will likely firm-up the ground, the muddy ruts created early in the week could freeze and wreak a different kind of havoc.
