Yates wins final stage of the Tour of Iran

Australian rider Theodore Yates has secured an important victory for his Drapac Pat’s Veg Holistic Development team, winning the final stage of the Tour of Iran (Azarbaijan).

He was best in a 62 man bunch sprint, beating Mohammad Ganjkhanlou (Pishgaman Cycling Team), Marco Doets (Baby-Dump Cyclingteam) and the others to the line in Tabriz. He had previously finished second, fifth and sixth on stages, and ended up 31st in the general classification.

Dutch rider Rob Ruijgh (Tarteletto-Isorex) won the overall classification, beating Ilya Davidenok (Tabriz Shahrdary Team) by four seconds and Nicola Toffali (0711 Cycling) by seven. Australians Jesse Featonby and Mathew Ross, both of the Drapac Pat’s Veg Holistic Development team, were fourth and fifth.
