JUNE: THE GREAT OPPORTUNITY RIDE
– Melbourne Crew –
The concept is simple. Departing Melbourne we’ll head out along the bay to Sorrento. From Sorrento we’ll catch the ferry to Queenscliff, and then head out via 13th Beach to pick up the Great Ocean Road where we’ll finish up in Lorne. In Lorne we’ll head to the Lorne Op Shop, where you’ll need to purchase your clothes for the pub that night. Naturally you’ll donate these back again in the morning! Day two sees us head up from Skenes Creek to Forrest, before rolling out to Colac, and back to Melbourne via the train.
If you’d like to plan an opportunity ride in your area, we’d love to post the details here. Just drop us an email with the details.
JULY 1: DIY TDF PROLOGUE ITT
We’ll be supplying the finer details closer to the date, however here is a heads-up on the challenge. We’ll be asking you to select the most self-advantageous (and elevation-neutral – i.e. not descending) 14km sector to replicate the Stage one prologue ITT at the 2017 TDF to see how you ‘stack up’ against the pros. Points awarded for cunning, treachery, and strongest tailwinds.
AUGUST 5: SUFFERFEST KNIGHTHOOD ATTEMPT
That’s correct. 10 Sufferfest videos, back-to-back-to-back…. The Sufferfest guys have more than 200 licensed training centres all over the globe, so where we have mini-communities we’ll pull these to life in a group attempt – otherwise we’ll be united in our individual pain caves online!
SEPTEMBER 8: CYCLINGTIPS BIRTHDAY RIDE
To celebrate the birthday of CyclingTips, we’ll be taking people out on a 300km+ monster from Melbourne-Inverloch-Melbourne (with the option of a 130km ‘short’ version from Lang Lang).
